Romaine and Avocado Salad with Basic Vinaigrette Dressing

Ingredients:

romain lettuce, torn into pieces
avocado, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 small shallot, minced
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
coarse salt, to taste
1 clove garlic, minced

Arrange a bed of lettuce and top with avocados.

Grind mustard seeds using a mortar and pestle. Combine with all the remaining ingredients and drizzle over the salad.
